How many times did we hear from our Mothers "If you'd just listen to me" but yet didn't listen. Why did we think they couldn't understand how we feel, never gone thru the things that we went thru. Times have changed. It's not the same we'd say. Interesting how times do change, but everything stays the same. People, places, words they all have such a impact.

We always think when it comes to the fork in the road I'm taking the easy street. All the signs are pointing to easy street. We heard about easy street all our lives. Just take a right at easy street. Been there done that, yep it's a right. Can't go wrong if you go right. Right, right, right.

Left? We turned left? Was she smothering or just Mothering.

Tip toe thru the tulips!

Here I am right where I was. I had quite the uneventful day today. But in all honesty I am suppose to be off my feet. Toe surgery a week ago and I believe my Doctor is a Toe God. I can feel it all the way down to my toes. That's right the # 4 toe on both feet. I can't wear a shoe yet but that will all change by next Wednesday. The Toe God said I will walk out of his office with running shoes on baby. Oh my gosh I'm watching American Idol and this kid is bombing so bad it's breaking my heart. I know your wondering how do you Barbie, know so much about music? And I say to you who wonder... Have you not heard me sing Sweet Child of mine? I'm a legend in my own mind. I have been known to make grown men cry. (Parke count's doesn't he)?

Sweet Sue ole sister in law of mine reminded me about my one year plan.. I had almost forgot about the one year plan. How has 6 months got by me? I've got work to do. Plans to make. Dinner to eat. (The Kung Pow Chicken is here) So I leave you now to ponder how I'm I going to get the one year plan up and running. I might surprise ya! Might. Might not..... I just need to get thru the tulips tonight.

Hello and Greetings!

I know it's been a long time sense I've updated.. Sorry folks! I've been busy, busy, busy!

I'm sitting in the Denver airport waiting for a flight back to Austin and this Free internet is so slow. I've tired standing on one foot and holding my arm up to get a better signal but no luck...

Enjoyed my time here in the Mile high city! Camille is settled in and enjoying college life! Patti may have a squatter on her hands! Madison and Parkes birthday is Wednesday! I don't like being away from Maddie on her big day :(

The woman sitting next to me just finished McDonalds! What kind of drug is on those fries? I thought I might have to grab the fries and run! The smell makes you think you NEED fries! Crazy! I have to go because they are boarding the flight!

Good Day Mates!

Ello' Mates!

Did you hear about the Woman in England who had a migraine headache and when she woke up she spoke in a French accent! Well, that kinda happened to me.. Sorta, a little bit, not really. I sometimes fell like talking with a accent and today is one of those days!

I would like to share with you all the story of "Big Red" Big Red is a shirt that I confiscated from my friend Queenie! Yep I kinda just stole it right out from under her about 10 years ago! It's just a red striped shirt from Kohl's... I however Love this shirt! In my mind I found it to be expectable attire for just about any occasion. I wore this shirt for just about every occasion. Are you getting my drift here? I'm telling you I have worn the darn shirt out! It now has holes everywhere! I find comfort in this shirt. I like the feel of it against my skin. It's comfortable. However today and I was cleaning out my drawer I realized that Big Red most go.... Yes, it must make a exit from my life. It's hard to give up something you love, But I have done it before with My Sammy Swindell T~shirt and also my Gamble, Gamble, Gamble, Eat, Sleep, Shop t~shirts (Yes this is plural. I wore out 2 of them). I know it's for the best. When I wear Big Red out in public I think I'm looking a little homeless. :[

So I want to publicly thank Big Red for all the Love and Comfort it has brought to me. Thank you Big Red! Thank you! And just in case your wondering.... I will NEVER get rid of "The Burple"

By the way. I'm I the only person out there that names their clothing?

Sick Sick Sick

I don't feel good. :(

I'm sooo mad I don't feel good. I have plans for the week and they didn't involve being sick!

One of my plans is my quilting class on Wednesday I'm so excited about the fabric I've chosen and can't wait to get started. I'm working with my Mom's sewing machine so that makes my heart feel good! Mr. Wilson, Camille's dog has a kidney stone the size of a quarter! The vet has said that it won't dissolve on it's own. Can you say $money! Yike's I might need to sale a kidney to pay for his stone! I guess I'll sign off. I'm tired and need my beauty rest!

P.S. How much "How's it Made" can my husband watch???

It's the Holiday Weekend! I'm loading up Julie's car and were heading over the hills and thru the woods to Madison house we go! Were going to hit up Canton Texas tomorrow and see what kind of trouble we can stir up! My Punk will be fishing on the coast and I'm hoping he catches a big ole fish! Darbie is coming to visit me next week I can hardly wait. She's soooo much fun! I wish Sue could have made the trip to Madison's with us, But due to her Motherly duties she has decided to stay home! Which reminds me. My nephew Blake is playing Football for my #1 team.

The fighting WILDCATS! I'm so excited and hope that I can make it to a game soon! Go Blake!

They Shoot Horses's Don't They?

Good Day Mates!

I found out in the last 30 hours that a Bee Sting sucks! I was walking around my pool barefooted Sunday evening when I stepped on a Bee! I hadn't been stung in quite a long time. After successfully drowning and beating the bad Bee to death. My friend Robin quickly (well it seemed like forever) made a paste of baking soda. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years so this was just the type of emergency she was trained for. Ok maybe she didn't get her Bee Sting Badge!

With all the drowning and beating of said Bee we forgot to make sure the stinger was removed from my foot.... 30 hours later I had to visit a foot specialist to remove the little stinger! I'm also on antibiotics 4 times a day for the infection that I have in my foot! Lesson Learned... STINGER OUT FIRST THEN KILL BEE! I hobble now... They shoot Horses's Don't They.....

Wonderful Weekend!

Hello Troops!

What a GREAT weekend! Started off with my 27th Wedding Anniversary on Friday! My Main Man "Punk" and I headed over to College Station to do some looking around at the Gypsy Junk Girls Junk~A~Plooza! Came back and had a wonderful dinner out! Madison called Saturday Morning and asked what was for dinner. I replied Pork Chops! She advised she would be on the next plane out of Tyler and she was! She flew back out this morning and Punk and I came back home and cleaned out the garage! Julie was over helping, and we got our Dip's and Soups in order for the season! I made a Chicken Salad recipe that my Sister in Law gave me and it is sooo good. I'll ask her if I can share the recipe with all 12 of you here! HAHA!

It's been a long long time.

I'm so ashamed of myself. It's not that I forgot about all my peeps it's just I have been soooo busy with the girls going off to College and working that I haven't had the time to check in.

But I'm back and promise to be a better blogger. I follow quite a few blogs myself and know how disappointing when people aren't posting. So forgive me and let's get on with it!

First things first. Madison and Camille have both flown the coop! That's right we are empty nesters! It's very strange not having to do the laundry everyday, however I think I'm already use to it! I'm now very good at using Skype!

Tomorrow is Parke's favorite day of the year! Yes the day he get down on his knee's and gives Thanks that he is married to me! It is our 27th Wedding Anniversary! It's the day before and we can't decide if we want to go toobin down the Comal or fly to New York City and see a broadway play. I'll update you on whichever we choose.

Return from Mexico!

We made it back from Mexico! Only took 18 hours but I'm back! Back in the USA!

I hadn't been to Mexico in 30years! Not a lot changed! I had a wonderful relaxing time with Patti! We both love to read and that's what we did. I read 4 books thought the week!

There are quite a few things I will miss about Mexico. Clean Sheets everyday! Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Cooked by someone other then me... And having a real cabana boy! One who jumped to my every call! Our resort had a private beach and we found that laying on the beach could be a shopping paradise! We were approached by people selling everything from jewelry, t~shirts, clothing, Para Sailing and much more! You'd kinda just leaned over and looked and thought hmmmm sure how many?

Madison and I got to meet a Sea Lion up close and personal! That was very cool. Camille and Chelsea swam with dolphins and Parke went deep sea fishing. It was a Great trip and I'm so glad to have the memories to last me a lifetime.

I best wrap it up. 330am will come very early in the morning! (The time I must get up for work)

I'm still not sure about this morning shift. What is it you all see about sunrise? I much rather prefer sunset!

Hola!

This post comes to you from Sunny Mexico! I've got to tell you folks it's HOT! Humidity is 80%! We shopped downtown yesterday and I started to melt in a leather store. I kid you not... I was like the Wicked Witch of the West. I'm meltttttting..... When asked what was her favorite thing of the day. Patti replied watching Barbie sweat in the leather store! I gladly handed over 700 peso's to just get the hell out of there! I don't know what I would have done for air conditioning at that point! I finished the book "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" I really enjoyed and look forward to the next 2 books in the series. Madison and Parke are flying in today! I would love to write more. However Patti and I are needed at the beach. Sun calls and we answer! Chelsea and Bug are flying thru the canopy's as we speak! Can't wait to hear how they liked zip lining thru the forest!

Wish you all were here! A big Thanks to Traci for taking care of the pups!

Oma's famous dinner

As I typed the title of tonight's blog it made me laugh. You see there are two stories I could tell you... I think I'll go with the safe one for now. My Mom (Oma) made a meal that was my family's favorite. Pork Roast, Sauerkraut and dumplings. Now some of you all were lucky enough to come over and eat the real deal! My Mom cooked by feel not by measuring. So when I asked her to show me how to make this meal there was a lot of heated conversation. She would end up doing her feel and I would be scooping up and measuring behind her! It's a meal that take's me back to my childhood the moment the Pork roast begins cooking with the onions in the oven. My Mom made the best gravy in the world. I've only came close to her gravy twice in my life. Once with this meal and once at Thanksgiving. As I was making the meal tonight I thought of the many times my Mom had made the meal and gave a silent thanks to God for blessing me with my German Mommy! It did make my heart feel good when my family told me thank's and how good it was tonight. Missing my Mom.

Remind me to tell you about my Mother's other famous meal sometime.

Yikes! It's hot! In fact I have found it so hot that there is not much I want to do. So I haven't posted cause I didn't think you all would like to hear how I haven't really done that much.

I'm starting a new book. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. It come's highly recommended. Doe's anyone out there have any books you can suggest we read? I Welcome comments! In fact I'm surprised some of you haven't spoke up! Helping a partner in crime move some boxes today! Then I'm sure I'll have to sit in front of a fan! So that's it folks. I don't have much. Hey Cupcake!

Self confession: I'm a cupcake slut! Never met one I haven't tried!

I've got a Secret!

I've got a secret! And it's not Victoria's secret!

I've decided to share it with you, my few, my proud, my followers! I belong to a small network, Ok a really really small network. I guess it's more like a one girl army! I've taken a stance against neglected Gnomes! Someone had to stand up for the poor guys. I think it's my calling. That's right I hear the call of the Gnome. (Ka~gnome Ka~gnome) Can you hear it? I didn't think so... It's a special talent that I alone might have. This all started about 3 weeks ago. One night while unable to sleep I came up with the idea to freshen up Madison's Gnome collection. I proceeded to groom her pool Gnomes. (See picture below).

Oh the joy! It was nothing compared to the excitement these little fellow's were feeling. ;)

I believe they then sent out a secret code to other Gnomes who needed a little TLG. Tender Loving Gnome. As I was driving by a neighbors I sighted another Gnome who needed some love! I recruited some former Gnome thief's and had them Gnome~nap the dude at dusk. I showed this Gnome some love and had the before mentioned special agents replace him back in the yard that he came from. I hope this random act of Gnomelove brought a smile to his owner's face! :) I've got my eye's peeled for more of these neglected suckers. It's a big world out there peeps and we have to do what we can for all species!

Bicycle, Bicycle!

I want to ride my Bicycle, I want to ride my bike!

The only problem is I don't have a bike. I have been looking for a bike. Craigslist, garage sales and last but not least my brothers garage. But no bike for me yet. I have a dream! That's right a dream of getting back on the bike! Actually for those of you who didn't realize I was such a biker, Parke and I in our youth rode quite a bit. Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris. I want to go on a Backroads tour. Maybe thru the wine country. Now this might just be a pipe dream.. The last time I was on a bike. Julie tried to kill me by biking 22 miles in 1 day in the Hot Texas sun!

I was so dehydrated and hot that I got lost on the way home! A woman taking her trash out to the curb noticed I had rode up and down her street about 3 times (might have been weaving) and asked me if I needed some water. I of course delirious from the Sun, told her she just might have saved my life! She pointed me out of her subdivision where I proceed to call Parke to come pick me up! I sold all the bikes soon after in a garage sale. But now I have had a change of heart! I'm ready to get on my bike and ride! Patti bought me a cute bell with dice on it. I'm going to get a cool vintage basket also! And I plan on putting water in the basket just in case I lose my way home again! Just call me Bike'n Barbie. Well when I get a bike that is....
